General Information:

We’re pleased to inform you that we’ll be back to PLAYA CATALINA our old site, where we held the event from 2000 to 2002 in Ensenada, Baja California, México. So, make your plans to enjoy the Biggest, Best beach Party in all of BAJA, "Mexicali en la Playa" 2004. We are expecting thousands of visitors from both sides of the border. Making it the most important Beach event of the year!

Now, with NEW operating hours that will bring a longer time to have FUN!
Every day closing at: MIDNIGHT!!!

Get ready to enjoy the best Beach Days and the warm Party Nights, Too Much Fun Style! Every day from Thursday July 15th to Sunday July 18th.

This year’s BIG difference will be the location, which is right next to the Ocean, and a short distance from all the Restaurants, Hotels, Bars y Discos.

The Band Lineup will consist of 22 LIVE BANDS from all of Baja, mainland Mexico and Southern California. Playing the best tunes of Reggae, Rock-Pop, Rock en Español, Ska, Latin Dance, Balads, Rock & Roll, Techno, Hip-Hop, among others. Check our Artist Lineup after June 15th for a full schedule.

We’re working hard lo find the most beautiful girls in the Region, to participate in our traditional BIKINI CONTEST, a natural crowd pleaser, that has become one of our MAIN attractions to the Festival. Taking place on stage on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th with two daily contests in the afternoon and night.

These are the requirements:
a) Must be 18 years or older.
b) Must send pictures of full body and face. Via E-mail on a JPG format, o by regular mail.
c) Must have an excellent body and beautiful face..
d) Availability to stay in Ensenada at the Festival, from Friday July 16th to Sunday July 18th .
e) Must wear at all times a distinctive banners from one of our sponsors.
f) Must stay close to the group of participants at all times.
g) Due to the number of families and children under age, NO nudity, nor exotic movements are allowed on stage.
h) Availability to attend at least ONE of the Pre-Parties or Press conference to promote the event in Baja or California.

These are the benefits:
a) Each participant will receive, regardless if they win or not a contest $250 dllrs.
b) Shared Lodging for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
c) Meals and Beverages for the weekend.
e) VIP treat, on all the events, and visits to some participating night clubs.
f) A $100 dllrs. BONUS per won contest. Could be up to four over the weekend.
g) Prizes and giveaways courtesy of our sponsors, according to the place on each contest.
h) Local transportation and personal security at all times.

We’re also working with our Radio Stations for a Casting Night Party in San Diego to select the participants…. If this happens will notify all the contestants. This event will be open to the public.

Beginning May 10th to June 4th, we’re taking DEMOS (CD's or Casetes) from everyone interested in performing at the Beach Fest from Thursday through Sunday. We accept original music and covers. On Rock en Español, Rock Pop, Reggae, Balada, Tropical, Salsa, Cumbia, Dance, Thecno, Rock N Roll, Ska, and any type of music that will go along with the BEACH!!!

 
This year the event is free of charge if you present a complementary ticket courtesy of our sponsors (click on beletos above). We have room for up to 22 Bands form both sides of the border to be selected by a jury and announce the Bands by June 7th .


There will be a 45 minute show for each band to perform (unless the public decides differently) and you only have to bring your instruments (except  drums), the event will have all the P.A., lighting, and stage. The band lineup will be included in all our promotional campaign and press conference. Once a band is selected we will send them our official RIDER to compare to the band’s special needs.

All bands must be available to perform on any of the four days from noon till midnight, a specific time will be issued with a complete schedule.

Due to the prior crowds response and the fact that it’s perfect for the BEACH FEST, This years Reggae will be a tribute to the KING of Reggae: BOB MARLEY! Everyday from noon to 2PM.
 
During this time we’ll program all the Reggae Bands attending, as well as having lots of original recorded music of Mr. Marley.      
 
 

Same as the Bikini Contest, where men, admire the beauties… now it’s the chance for the ladies to do the same on a unique way. That’s why we invite all the hunks to join the contest.
 
These are the requirements:
  1. No Kids.
  2. Please don’t send any pictures…
  3. Your body… well… as long as the stage can hold it!
  4. To join us the hole weekend for the Party!
  5. No, you don’t have to wear any band (we have no sponsors for this contest).
  6. No, we don’t need you with us at the night parties with the Bikini girls. You better take a good night sleep and see you the next day…
  7. And as with the Bikini Girls, NO nudity, nor obscene movements on stage, or you’ll sleep warm in a place you don’t want to end up.
  8. We don’t need you for any press conference… Ha! Maybe the pre-parties, so you can help us fill the place.... ...    
These are the benefits:
  1. Every contestant signs up on the day of the contest.
  2. One meal and a six pack for the day (to stay in shape).
  3. $100 dllrs to the winner. Only ONE contest per person.
  4. Prizes and giveaways courtesy of our sponsors (not yours). Depending on the place on each contest. Ok, Ok, it’s a case of XX Lager...       
 

A tradition and the sport with the most entertainment in the Festival. We’re working to get some of the best players from all over Baja. We know there are a lot of good athletes in the region. This year we’ll have daily tournaments on Thursday and Friday for COED teams of three people OPEN DIVISION, and a OPEN Tournament for doubles, for the weekend, for MALE, FEMALE AND COED.
 
PRE-Registration (before July 9th ) $50 dllrs. per team, after July 9th or on event day $70 dllrs.
 Includes:
Chance to play any day.
4 event T-shirts.
20 tickets of general admission to the Festival.
20 sodas or water.

An activity that’s growing every year among the attendees. Same as the Volleyball, we’ll have two daily tournaments on Thursday and Friday and one tournament over the weekend.
 

Teams must be of 5 members (includes the goalkeeper) minimum, and up to 10 with unlimited shifts on the field. Games of 20 minutes or 5 goals, whichever comes first. One single class OPEN!
 
PRE-Registration (before July 9th ) $50 dllrs. per team, after July 9th or on event day $70 dllrs.
 Includes:
Chance to play any day.
5 event T-shirts.
40 tickets of general admission to the Festival.
30 sodas or water.

 
 

Sunday Julio 18th we’ll have the Extreme 3K Beach Run (on Sand). Taking place inside the event facilities, with a loop course starting and finishing in front of the main stage.

Open to the following age groups: 12 and unders, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and over on MALE and FEMALE division.

5 participants minimum per group! Or you will be transferred to the next level UP!

PRE-Registration (before July 9th ) includes:
1 event T-shirt
10 tickets of general admission to the Festival.
5 sodas or water.

Cost: $10 dllrs. per person. After July 9th or on event day it’s $12 dllrs.

 
 

Everyday from 10 AM to 12 Noon, we’ll have Aerobics TAE-BO. Managed by certified instructors.

Chance to attend any day at any class.
1 event T-shirt
10 tickets of general admission to the Festival.

Cost: $10 dllrs. per person. After July 9th or on event day it’s $12 dllrs.

 
 
Once again a Playground for all the Kids, inside the Festival. Including different contests such as sac races, tug-o-war, and many more fun games. Where even young adults can participate.
 
Some of the activities are FREE, while some of the rides on trampolines will have a small cost per game.
